The Institute for Children, Youth, and Families is a University of Connecticut, Stamford resource for Southwestern Connecticut to promote lifelong learning and development. Its primary goal is to educate and to empower families and professionals regarding best practices and the latest knowledge. Through collaboration with community partners and other higher education institutions, the Institute brings interdisciplinary expertise to academic offerings, educational programs, research, evaluation, and outreach for the benefit of families.

The Institute for Children, Youth, and Families is aligned within the University of Connecticut's School of Family Studies. Philosophies and intellectual expertise within the School of Family Studies support the community involvement and think-tank research activities of the Institute.
